The picture in the header was taken just above the Blue Ridge Parkway in NC, near Grandfather Mountain, looking southwest to the Linville Gorge. Tablerock and Hawksbill mountains can be seen in the background. I grew up in the valley immediately below, surrounded by the Pisgah National Forest, and drove up and down a 5 mile dirt road everyday for school. The landscape of my childhood is with me every single day, wherever my journey takes me.
